What To Expect at a Budapest Bath Party

Budapest is famous for it’s thermal baths. What most people don’t know about is, their famous bath parties. The most popular Budapest bath parties are hosted at the Szechenyi Baths in the summer and the Lukacs baths in the spring, fall and winter. I visited Budapest in late September, which is still considered “summer” so … Read more

“It tastes sort of weird” -a very inaccurate description from my friend.   …..a second later I realized that “sort of weird” must translate to absolutely amazing.   Lagkagehuset is a remarkable bakery with several locations throughout Copenhagen and their iced coffee is something out of a white girl’s wet dream. Long Weekend in Paris: Here’s What You Can See

I was granted a long weekend in Paris when I ended up with work meetings in Europe following a conference.  With a city the size of Paris, most people wouldn’t schedule only 3 days there, but this is the hand I was dealt. But no worries, because you can actually see a ton with a long … Read more

Yosemite National Park: Hiking The Upper Falls Trail

YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK: upper falls trail

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming “Wow! What A Ride!”   Yosemite National Park is one of those … Read more

Al Dente, Boston: Find Authentic Italian in the North End

al dente boston

al dente boston

Boston’s North End has some of the best Italian cuisine outside of Italy. Visit Al Dente and order the Shrimp and Calamari Fra Diavalo and you won’t be disappointed; Large shrimp and calamari, sauteed in olive oil, served in a spicy marinara sauce, white wine and served over homemade linguine. These are the best noodles I have ever eaten in my life, and I spent two weeks in Italy.

Al Dente is a small and cozy restaurant with low lighting, which creates a romantic ambiance: perfect for date night, but horrible for food photography (as you can see in my picture above). The wait staff is pleasant, attentive and happy to make recommendations. This was my first North End experience and I will definitely be back!
